The Feldenkrais method is a method of movement lessons, but its main core is learning The student is doing the lesson and at the same time he is listening to the relationships between different parts of his body and between himself and the environment and the evaluation of how well he performs, is based on his own feelings. This way of learning which Feldenkrais called “Organic Learning”, Is similar to the infants’ way of learning Since they ,too, learn for example how to roll, crawl and walk, according to their own sensations and feelings. The learner in organic learning is active and curious. He connects his entire learning experience to himself, on all his parts Including his thoughts, his feelings and sensations; he explores various possibilities and these qualities are important also in other learning, not only in Feldenkrais learning through movement, and specifically also in Mathematics learning. The most important part of learning happens actually in a state of “not knowing”; In the transition from a state of “not knowing” to a state of “knowing”. The students in the course of these lessons get used to, and become more and more comfortable, in this state of “not knowing”. They learn to ask questions and to point to themselves and to the teacher where they don’t know and to direct themselves and improve their learning abilities. Each one of the participants in the lesson – The Feldenkrais teacher, the Mathematics teacher, the students, are learning from each other during the entire lesson. The experience is a learning experience for everybody and the awareness which arises both in the students, and in the teachers, through the movement lessons transfers naturally to the Mathematics lessons. This quality of organic learning in which one connects his learning to all his parts, his physical parts, his thinking parts and his feelings and also with the environment is actually an important quality in each and every learning, including academic learning. we believe that acquiring knowledge in a way which is connected to the whole being of the student is much more meaningful and the student can use what he learns in this way in many different contexts It is not only for the exam.
