FREE Plugins for FL Studio, Ableton, Cubase, and Logic Pro!

FREE Plugins for FL Studio, Ableton, Cubase, and Logic Pro!

A few weeks ago I featured one of my
favorite new free plugins – ADSR Sample Manager. then I asked you all, “what’s your
favorite free plugin?” And I got some awesome suggestions! here are five
absolutely free virtual instrument plugins. and if you don’t know what a
virtual instrument is, check out my video here – the first in my series explaining
music production jargon in simple terms. let’s get started. first is one that many
of you already know about but I need to mention it anyway. it’s Komplete Start by
Native Instruments. if you don’t already have this go get it now! you get 2,000 sounds, 7 synths, 9 sampled instruments
including sounds from the new Analog Dreams and Hybrid Keys which are amazing! you also get some effects and the
Komplete Kontrol software which helps to find, audition, and modify those sounds.
next up is Spitfire Labs. Spitfire Audio is known for high quality sampled
orchestral libraries that aren’t cheap. but they’ve also got a collection of
free sounds. these sounds are beautiful! strings recorded live at Spitfire
Studios, beautiful soft pianos, and lush synth pads. I’m amazed they give these
away for free. all right third is Keyzone Classic
by Bitsonic. it has an excellent Yamaha piano sound and it’s also got a Steinway
and some electric piano sounds. I’m usually really critical of piano virtual
instruments but this one is really nice for being free. if you need some classic
piano and electric piano sounds go get it. by the way what do you guys think is the
best piano virtual instrument out there? I’m curious to know your favorites. leave
them in the comments below. Fourth is Triple Cheese by U-He.
this is a really unique synth plug-in. the interface is simple and the sounds
are really good. load up a preset and you don’t really need to do anything. no
chorus to add or reverb or anything else to make it sound good. it sounds big and
sometimes weird in a really good way. number five the last one is Rave
Generator. get ready for crazy! this thing looks like it was created 10
years ago but it’s just retro and fun. you load up some of the preset samples
or you can drop in your own and get some crazy results! it’s also got a couple
really cool effects built in. don’t you guys love free stuff?
I’ll be back every now and then with more free plugin suggestions. until
then go make some weird music that you love! I’ll see you guys later.

Thanx – this is good stuff. i like FREE. I am a Windows user though. Pro Tools 11 and I like that language better. But I get it – Mac users are the dominant – Thank you for your info friend.

Would be nice if all these plugins were not only free, but also accessible for blind users. NI is doing a great job, lots of stuff is usable thanks to NKS, and Spitfire has some of their libraries NKS-ready. But there's still a lot to be desired in general.

I have Omnisphere but can’t seem to find a good clean grand piano sound in it, am I missing something? Or should I just get one of those you should before getting keyscape?

Meanwhile i have switched from ADSR Sample Manager to Loopcloud 4.0.
Applying a pattern to a sample and edit it including overtake it that processed sample into your DAW is pretty cool.

    Some of my free favorites:

    – TDR Nova EQ and Kotelnikov Master Compressor
    – u-he Tyrell N-6
    – The entire Calf Plugin Suite (unfortunately Linux only and only in LV2 format)
    – ZynFusion (at least open source, you can build it or pay 40 bucks to get a precompiled binary)
    – TranceDrive (older, 32-bit only – but super-fun)
    – Helm Synth
    – Dexed (Yamaha DX-7 emulator, GitHub page has links with a HUGE load of banks with over 3,000 presets)
    – ObXD
    – Tonespace (scales and chords)
    – Tunefish v4
    – Philteroid (32-bit)
    – Equilibre (You NEED to check this one out!)

My list goes on but I leave it at that.

Also a shoutout to all of the Airwindows plugins… they don't have a GUI but they are pretty good.

great vid. if any of y'all are looking for a synthesizer that sounds like Serum and is free, ya gotta get SURGE (created by Vember, available at GitHub) !it's remarkable that it's free! it is also excellent for warm analog tones, and comes with many great presets for starting point. Other great free synth Vsti's = Dexed, ObXd, Synth1, and better than Zebralette are U-he's free Podolski and Tyrell 6…

Hey! check out PaulStretch .. its free, however thats not important. Its the code which can stretch and expand any sound (sample) without causing artefacts or unwanted glitches. Imagine your favourite chord, passage, melody or even song – Stretched and timewarped and also the option to pluck out harmonics and octaves.
